Overview
Framed is a macOS mockup app for creating screenshots, videos, code snippets, and social images. The app does not require an account, does not include third-party analytics, and does not use your projects for advertising or tracking.
Projects and local files
Imported screenshots, videos, audio clips, generated exports, and saved Framed projects stay on your Mac or wherever you choose to save them. Framed does not upload project media to our servers for editing, rendering, storage, or export.
Framed stores app preferences locally, such as accent color, onboarding state, recent project metadata, saved projects, and local export usage state.
Project data we do not collect
- We do not collect, upload, or store your project files, screenshots, videos, audio clips, code snippets, exported images, or exported videos.
- We do not create user accounts.
- We do not use cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics in the app or on this website.
- We do not sell personal information.
Screen recording and permissions
If you use screen recording features, macOS may ask for Screen Recording, Accessibility, Input Monitoring, and Microphone permissions. Framed uses these permissions only to capture the screen or selected window, optional narration, and optional click indicators that you choose to include in a project.
Recorded media is processed on your Mac and saved into your local project unless you choose to export or share it.
Framed Pro and clean export verification
Framed offers a one-time Pro unlock and a limited number of watermark-free exports for free users. To verify purchase status and clean export quota, the app sends App Store transaction verification data, app version, build version, request IDs, and export event type to our verification service.
This verification does not include your project content, imported media, exports, name, or email address. Payment processing and purchase history are handled by Apple through the App Store.
Contact Me form
If you use Contact Me in the app or the website contact form, Framed sends only the message you write, optional name, optional reply email, and available app version/build details to our contact service so we can read and respond to your feedback. Do not include sensitive information in feedback messages.
Website
The Framed website is a static site and does not use cookies or analytics scripts. The hosting provider may process basic server logs, such as IP address, browser, requested page, and timestamp, for security and reliability.
Your choices
- You can delete saved projects from inside Framed or from local app storage on your Mac.
- You can manage Screen Recording, Accessibility, Input Monitoring, and Microphone permissions in macOS System Settings.
- You can avoid sending feedback data by not using the Contact Me form.
- You can use Framed without creating an account.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Framed changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page.
